The Kentucky Center for Agriculture and Rural Development has an opening for a full-time Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support.
KCARD is a non-profit organization that works with farmers, farmers markets, agritourism operations, value-added operations, cooperatives, meat processing facilities, grain handling operations, horticultural businesses, and many other agricultural-related businesses operating in Kentucky.
KCARD employees work remotely and have flexible scheduling options.
Administrative Assistant job duties include:
Handle client files, data entry, meeting scheduling, and project coordination
Maintain recordkeeping system, including financial, organizational, and grant records;
Assist with invoicing for projects
Respond to client requests for assistance and update information in client database
Pull weekly and monthly reports
Answer phone calls
Organize in-person and virtual meetings for staff and KCARD board
Provide administrative support to KCARD staff
This position is full-time with benefits with salary commensurate with education and experience levels, with expected range of $35,000-$45,000.
Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and excellent interpersonal skills;
Attention to detail;
Strong work ethic with a self-motivated nature;
Knowledge of Kentucky agriculture and the agricultural and food sectors;
Experience with computers and common software, including Microsoft Excel; and
Valid driver’s license and access to private vehicle.
Location: Flexible within state of Kentucky, with in-state travel expected.
