3 Tips to Maximize Your Social Media Presence

Your online presence is a key part of your marketing plan. Many potential customers will check out your website or social media pages before visiting your business to find your hours, location, a list of offered products, and more. You can use your social media pages to build your brand awareness, develop relationships with customers, and even to make sales. Though each social media network is different and has a specific algorithm, here are three tips to maximize your social media presence across your platforms: 

  1. Start by planning and researching. Take some time to create a tactical plan for your social media, including what your goals are, what social networks you’ll use, and a general posting calendar. Research tips and tricks that will help you achieve your goals. You can also analyze the social media pages of your competitors to help you get an idea of what’s working for them and what could be better.   

  2. Remember: a picture is worth a thousand words. Focus on including some type of visual with each post. This could be a picture of you or your product, a link to your website, a sheet with your prices, or even just your logo. Most networks are visual focused anyway (like Instagram and TikTok), but did you know that pictures that have people in them will reach wider audiences on Facebook? Posting pictures is one way that you can make Facebook’s algorithm work for you. 

  3. Use analytic tools. Most social media accounts for businesses include some sort of analytics, with information on views, likes, engagements, and more. Some networks (like Facebook) will even provide a time optimization to let you know when your audience is most active so you can try to post during that time period. Paying attention to your analytics is the best way to modify your social media posts to reach your goals.
